What a garment factory or workshop does
A factory or workshop executes the agreed manufacturing scope. Its work may include cutting, sewing, assembly, finishing, packing, and related production operations for a product that has been sufficiently defined.
The exact capability, order size, machinery, material experience, scheduling, and documentation available differ by workshop. No one facility should be assumed to cover every product or requirement.
- Review whether the defined product fits the workshop's capability
- Plan and carry out the agreed production operations
- Follow the approved reference and recorded order requirements
- Report production questions or exceptions through the agreed channel

What a Vietnam-side production partner coordinates
A production partner connects development and manufacturing rather than replacing the workshop. The role is to identify the work required from the client's current stage, coordinate the relevant specialists and suppliers, keep approvals visible, and bring Vietnam-side updates and decisions back to one place.
VI MADE works with partner workshops and suppliers selected for the scoped product. It does not present those facilities as owned factories or promise a universal factory network.
- Scope product-development and production requirements
- Coordinate materials, pattern, sample, and workshop activity
- Follow timing, quantities, issues, and recorded approvals
- Coordinate scoped quality checkpoints and visible reporting
- Prepare packaging, labeling, weight, and shipment-handoff details

Choose the model that matches the work still unresolved
A direct factory relationship may be appropriate when the product, materials, sample, quantities, quality standard, commercial terms, and production management responsibilities are already clear and the brand can manage the relationship directly.
A production partner is more relevant when the brand needs Vietnam-side development, coordination across several specialists, remote communication, consolidated approvals, production follow-up, or a defined handoff between workshop, quality, packing, and logistics parties.
- Use a direct factory relationship for a production-ready, actively managed order
- Use a production partner when development or multi-party coordination remains
- Define responsibilities in writing whichever model is chosen
04
Questions to ask before appointing either party
The label used by a supplier matters less than the written responsibility model. Before work begins, confirm which party owns each decision, deliverable, approval, payment, quality checkpoint, and handoff.
- Who owns the factory or workshop relationship?
- Who develops and approves the sample and specification?
- Who confirms materials, substitutions, quantities, and timing?
- What quality method, tolerance, sample size, and reporting are included?
- Who prepares packaging, documents, carrier handoff, and destination inputs?
- Which fees, exclusions, and change controls are recorded in writing?
VI MADE is a Vietnam-side development and production partner, not an owned garment factory.
